About Guinea Fowl
Guinea fowl are small, hardy gamebirds that mature around 2.5 pounds. Guinea fowl spend much of their day exploring and foraging. They are revered as a natural method of pest control, including unwanted weed seeds and insects. They have become popular for use in controlling ticks, especially in areas where Lyme disease is a problem. They are also great watchdogs, as they are very vocal when anything new enters their territory. Guinea fowl can also be used for meat and eggs. They are seasonal layers and typically lay from March/April to September/October. Mature females can lay 100-125 eggs per year.
